Calibration & Audit

CEMS calibration and audits in the right technical terms: zero and span, CGA, RCA, and RATA, with the documentation reporting requires.

01

When this service is needed

  • Scheduled periodic CEMS calibration and audits.
  • Preparing for an internal or external audit or evaluation.
  • Readings that drift, are unstable, or are questioned by operations.
  • After a major repair or the replacement of analyzer components.

02

Service scope

Permen LHK No. 13 of 2021 refers to CEMS calibration and audits using the CGA, RCA, and RATA methods. During these activities, the Data Interfacing System (DIS) keeps sending data with a defined marker value (Article 9 paragraph 2), and the activity is reported through SIMPEL within 2 × 24 hours (Article 10). That is why calibration and audits need to be planned, not done at short notice.

Zero and span

Routine checks of the analyzer response at the zero and span points, to detect drift early.

CGA (Cylinder Gas Audit)

Gas analyzers are tested with certified standard gases at several concentration levels to confirm their response is still correct.

RCA (Response Correlation Audit)

For particulate monitors. Monitor readings are correlated with manual measurements across the operating range, so the validity of dust measurement is maintained.

RATA (Relative Accuracy Test Audit)

CEMS data is compared with results from a reference method run at the same time on the stack.

We support the preparation, execution, and documentation of the results. Where a test requires a specific testing party, the role of each party is made clear from the start.

03

How we work

We treat calibration and audits as part of the maintenance cycle, not as an annual event. The schedule is agreed with the site team, including standard gas needs and reporting deadlines.

Every result is documented, and every deviation is followed up until the data can be trusted again.

Working principle: CEMS calibration and audit
  1. Zero & spanRoutine check of analyzer response
  2. CGAGas analyzers tested with certified standard gases
  3. RCAParticulate monitors correlated with manual measurements
  4. RATACEMS data compared with a reference method
  5. Report & follow-upResults documented for reporting
